Fall Decorating: Cone Cornucopias
One of my absolute favorite things in our shop is the millinery. I love sorting it, photographing it and, of course, doing things with it. Above are a couple of my top picks -- a spray of autumn colored maple leaves, vintage white cherries and vintage button mushrooms. They mixed in perfectly with other seasonal fruits and leaves to top off a few handmade paper cones.
We made each cone unique but kept it pretty cohesive color-wise. Left to right we have a velvet leaf/nut and vintage exotic fruit cone, an autumn floral cone with both vintage and contemporary flowers and, last but not least, a fruit cone with all vintage Japanese and German berries, fruits and chili.
Have you started thinking Thanksgiving crafting? Or is Thanksgiving more of a cooking holiday for you? It's definitely a time for baking around here. And for... mmm... turkey sandwiches!
Much like the treat buckets, we used pretty Italian papers, ribbons and Dresden trims to create these cones. Plus a scrap of a girl holding a cornucopia. I'm very into the large turkey Dresdens -- we just got them in today so they'll be in the shop and on the website first thing tomorrow.

New Flowers Day 1
Today was Day 1 of adding tons of new flowers, peps and stamen to our etsy shop. Here's a glimpse:
Funny how my eye was drawn to all the pinks and softer colors, especially considering that many of our new flowers are in pretty fall colors -- burgundy, pumpkin, cocoa. Here, let me show you:
Now we're talking autumn! Tomorrow will see even more new flowers added to our etsy shop. Now if only this heat wave would break so I could get back out in the yard. There are painting decisions to be made and quite a few seasonal weeds that are starting to show up :)

New Shop Additions: Paper Flowers

This week we're adding a vast selection of new paper flower styles to our etsy shop. Each bud, blossom, pip and leaf is handmade with careful attention to detail. Here's a small sampling:
Above are country roses in ivory, pink mix and red. They have two-tone leaves and gorgeous curly petals.
Next we have two shades of old fashioned roses and a bouquet of forget me nots in all ivory.
Above are beautiful lilies in navy blue and a pink/white mix. We stock these in several other colors. On the right is an extra large rose in ivory, also available in six other colors.
And last but not least, we're very excited about these ruffled pom poms. The orange and yellow ones remind me of marigolds. We're stocking eleven different shades of these.Be sure to keep an eye to the shop, as we'll be adding even more over the next few days.

Handmade Milllinery Flowers

I've always loved paper and velvet millinery flowers and, happily, they're not just for hats. Their appeal lies partly in that each blossom, bud and leaf is handmade and no two are exactly alike.
Here's a few groups of them I like to display in vintage silver baby cups. They come in so many shades of white!
They also make gorgeous embellishments for festive napkin rings, everlasting headbands for flower girls and attendants in weddings, corsages for proms and are the perfect size for dolls and teddy bears. How would you use them?I'm linking up with White Wednesday over at Faded Charm. Be sure to stop by to see more pretty ways to use white.

Yellows and Blues
Here are a few everyday items, treats of the season and favorite crafty things. Our beautiful sunshine and clear skies had me drinking in the blues and yellows. The ixias in the center top row are one of my absolute favorite flowers ever. I salvaged these stalks from a bit of heavy gardening earlier in the week.
