Spring has Sprung

The first day of spring was not one to disappoint: plenty of sunshine and lots of time spent outdoors at the beach and in the garden.

Some of you know that I've been an avid surfer since my teens and spend as much time as possible down on the beach and on the water. The center photo is of me at my favorite "secret" beach this past Saturday enjoying the sunshine and surf.

The other eight pieces of the mosaic, well, what can I say? The bulbs -- freesias, Dutch irises, daffodils --are all blooming happily and the nasturtiums and lavender are showing their colors as well.

Be sure to visit Mary over at Little Red House for more pretty mosaics!

  13. Great mosaic ... loved the surfing snapshot in the middle! I just popped by to say thanks very much for visiting my 'Pink' mosaic post ... I think we take the plumerias for granted over here in my part of the world as they are grown almost everywhere. I do have to say, after a quick look at your blog, that your Mum and yourself are very talented ... what fabulous things you create!

  19. Hello Amanda,

We had three days of Spring like weather and yesterday it snowed! LOL Nothing to amount to anything though...today it's 59 degrees...Springtime is trying it's best to push through. :0)

I love all of the flowers and surfer!! I lived in San Diego in the late 80's..on Shelter Island for the first 9 months...then moved to a house in University City and worked part time in La Jolla...boy, was I ever spoiled with that living arrangement..haha I've never been the same after enjoying that wonderful weather and fabulous shopping!

Thanks so much for visiting me!

    Hugs,
    Stephanie ♥
